The shoe thing. People enjoy my shoe collection, but I don't think people realize quite the extent to which shoes are a motivating factor for me.

If I'm feeling glum and uninspired, slipping on a pair of killer heels can instantly change my mood. A trip to a shoe store is the same as a trip to an art gallery for me. It inspires, uplifts, makes me think. I've never impulse bought a pair of shoes. Every pair I own was sitting there, waiting for me.

I was thinking about Christian Louboutin specifically when I wrote these lyrics. His mastery of his craft is a huge inspiration for me. Written in the spirit of French art song in his honour.

I felt you calling my name
That shade of pink
So unusual and yet, so, me

That line, so exquisite
A silhouette so simple and yet unlike any other on the market
A décolleté so subtle yet filled with wicked promise

That heel, so elegant
So flawlessly supports my weight
And moulds so strikingly my leg
Standing in that firm embrace
I channel some force from beyond
So Ethereal

I take one step, then two, then twirl
A gasp
A sigh
A squeal
There is no doubt
I am taking you home
